Summary of Key Updates
The Low Level Order Picker will be reclassified from the A2 category to a new E0 category within the Order Picker group.
Reach Truck categories D1 and D2 will be consolidated into a single D1 category, with height restrictions removed.
Within the Tow Tractor (H category), the H3 designation will be discontinued and all weight restrictions removed.
The J category will be streamlined to include only J1, J3, J5, J7, and J8, with no height limitations.
A new M4 designation will be introduced under the Multidirectional category for Pedestrian Operated Stacker Trucks.
A new SP1 category will be established for Vertical Stock Pickers (e.g., Crown Wave).
Revised testing standards will be developed ahead of the implementation date.
These changes reflect advancements in technology, evolving equipment types, and changing workplace requirements, ensuring training and assessment remain current and compliant. Strong emphasis is placed on the need for specific familiarisation following Basic Training, as well as when undertaking conversion training on other machines, to support safety, competence, and legal compliance across diverse work environments These changes take place from 19th January 2026.
